International Year of Languages/En
The year 2008 was declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations as The International Year of Languages. The coordination of the activities was given to the hands of UNESCO (official page). The year should adress activities on the language issues and multilingualism such as language education and investigation, language preservation, multilingualism and intercultural diversity promotion.
