Because various areas of Science are broken up into specific separate disciplines, there is no (w)holistic approach to Science.
Collaboration facilitated through consensus
editAs information tends to be added to the bottom of the text, it is necessary to write backwards (src). The whole systems model is an attempt at phenomic modeling that joins the World's information in a functional model that escapes fractured 2500 year-old western empiricism. Finding an anchor for it that is not scientific and boring has been difficult, but it appears that the democratic 'leaf blower' victory over illegal authoritarianism in Portland, Oregon provides one. The primary video source is the TikTok site, so effective that the outlaw authoritarian in control is attempting to remove it - list of video sources.
Constructive notes
edit- Note: this discussion attempts to compare two instances of social formation under stress; one went tragically wrong (Seattle CHAZ/CHOP, and the other, sort of 'anti-Trump spec-ops.' worked for a while effectively defending local Portland, Oregon against unwanted intrusion ordered by President Trump. After successfully resisting Trump's force (and discouraging similar actions by Trump in other cities), I commented through Tiktok that the protesters need to consentual-ly transition towards city governance as being 'loyal city defenders,' but they did not. (Previously I had suggested leadership, such as it was, 'keep the crazies off the front line,' which they did - with spectacular results. ('The crazies,' however, bought lasers that apparently did eye damage to the mercenary contractors from the rear - the kind of thing that has never been part of any US rights protest strategy.) Protests continued the Black Lives Matter (BLM) pattern of confronting police. Tear gas, which Portland Mayor Wheeler condemned after feeling its effects, was again used against protesters by Portland police. Ultimately a former US mercenary contractor with a large BLM tattoo on his neck shot a radical Trump supporter in the name of 'antifa,' reversing 'antifa's' best claim that it never killed anyone. This is exceedingly regrettable because antifa descends from the pacifist civil rights movement of the 1960s and 70s.
- There was no quorum nor consensus in the decision to kill the far-right Trump supporter. Quorum and consensus are core to whole systems modeling as applied to society and its governance.
- Carving a momentary brilliant action (that could have carried forward to genuine government participation especially in an the Athenian democratic context of this writing) out of serious chaos that includes looting, arson and murder (bordering on mass murder) is difficult in a comparison like this. Especially so, since all of the mainstream media continues to rationally reduce widely-distributed events into an singular 'narrative. The media is stoking the racist fires that genuine protesters are attempting to extinguish.
- Perhaps this is a pattern; events and outcomes in current conflict (here at the top of the page) showing how consensus makes things right (in emotional terms.) Rendered a bit to cold fact, and plowed as hard learnings into the greater text as a subtext.
Personal notes
edit- Probably you could guess: I opposed the concept of antifa (initially pronounced 'anti-fah'). I predicted that non-pacifistic reactions to Turmp's reactionaries would result in the American Left re-defining itself in the context of rightist violence as it happened. But I mostly oppose antifa(h) because the evidence is that 'left informs the right.' Which is to say that the rural far-right knows absolutely nothing, and learns what little it knows from conflict with the Left, where the Left attempts to didactically inform the Right through conflict. The Left ultimately teaches the Right everything it needs to know to defeat it. In one campaign long ago, the Right even self-defined as 'know nothings.'
- It is the current Left that informs the Right; without the Left, the far-Right would be limited to occasional unconnected killings. Further, Left roots within the context of current industrialism are frighteningly close to the proto-nazi movements that define the current Right especially through Trump's Bannon. Before Bannon was David Duke who refreshed the aging and moderating KKK with genuine European fascism through punk rock. Before that Left/Right cross-pollination that included the defining moments of right communism and proto-nazism within a discussion group: the 'Left Hegelians.'
- Left also defines educational systems as home, with the Right self-defining as being happily stupid. This is at the core of the current conflict. Educational systems are non-democratic and oligarchic by definition, yet pretend to teach democracy, and even empathy, directly from oligarchic documents by Plato and his cohort long ago. Plato's republicanism is presented as democracy, yet Plato hated Athenian democrats as anarchists. Further, the academy of the time supported the slavery of enemy-state Sparta, and worked within Athens for democracy's defeat from which classicism would never recover.
- The academic tendency that is so dangerous, which I believe fuels reactionaries, is the singular fact that academic-type educators, through the monopolistic control of information through empiricism, literally fail 80% of the population: literally(!). And, as intellectual elitists, they feel really good about it. Rural culture is especially hard hit, and has been forced to submit to (what centrists call) populism; strong arm tactics currently linked to Trump's Bannon. Rural people, being traditional and family-oriented, attempt to stick to their cultural roots in the face of unrelenting industrial revolution, every force works against them. They are isolated through the denial of essential information, and are instead forced to absorb capital marking information, which is where they got Trump in the first place, the television. The Left is entirely to blame for this and the Left, through academia, on social media and in the streets, will continue to search for new avenues of social control while continually informing the far Right through conflict.
As the Black Lives Matters movement successfully pushed back violent police enforcement, it formed 'free camps' using the 'occupy' template of 'political narrative' and elections through 'assembly.' The initial CHAZ/CHOP camp in Seattle suffered from self-elected leadership with a violent 'narrative' through forced assemblies resulting in the tragedy that is loss of life. (The primary source for CHAZ/CHOP specifically blamed poor leadership for its failure.)
The Seattle effort succeeded because consensus implemented a collaborative effort built through two months of successful resistance to illegal authoritarianism. Successive consensus-led groups join including 'the wall of moms,' 'dads with leaf-blowers,' and a veteran front.
The point here is that the BLM effort in the Northwest US reversed its failures by eliminating the common oligarchic 'republic' template (which is modernist and ancient), for the naturally-evolved consensus model that guided humanity's evolution up to the developments of family capital and civic control.
We know for fact that this evolutional model had evolved a state of pure sustainability through spirituality in North America, the Turtleback, prior to colonization. Forms of it survive even under oligarchic control of civic groups who work to 'gloss' pre-colonial culture to make it appear to be a version of european feudalism.
Other versions of the model naturally appear as oppressed and/or poverty-stricken groups evolve into beneficial and sustainable society for themselves. But, they are notoriously suppressed such that their victimization forces maladaptive takeover often from within causing predictable societal failure. Their naturally-sustainable society is replaced with a modernist community-control model through police oppression invariably leading to the corrupt control of community maladaptives from modernized versions of the ancient western oligarchic template.
Control is by the 15% who become aroused (and often engorged - both male and female) at the suffering of others as an outcome of control, the reverse of natural evolution of empathic model into human morality: collaboration facilitated through the consensual decision-making of a truly-representative (non-parliamentary) quorum: collaboration through consensual facilitation.
Preserving naturally-formed, socially-sustainable society
editThis model seeks direct democracy (and degrowth), but differently by reducing reliance on elections by allowing people to directly contribute societal benefits in group formats. This is called "agency" here. Included is the idea of 'going back to the land,' but without compromising fought for benefits such as medicine, social support. This would increase popular access to Science, and restructuring political language so as to be logically-usable to describe ideas and desires of the whole population.
The hypothesis is that social sustainability exists (usually) in a natural environment, and the society formed will want to protect its supporting environment. It should bring to mind the self-sustainability of naturally-evolved cultures of First Peoples.' However, this extends to urban culture which may appear maladaptive, but is in fact self-supporting and coping under the stresses of the unjust developmental growth of controlling capital culture.
Naturally-evolved society models sustainability, purely-scientific whole systems modelling
The hypothesis was created as an intended addition to a Green Party's policy platform, but it was failed by an arbitrary 1.5% in a questionable criteria scheme. It seeks to preserve socially-sustainable culture specifically in the context of atmosphere-warming, because social sustainability requires an environment to live in that also requires sustainability. I broached the idea to a wider Green party, and responded to comments as best I could. Typically, I get support or non-opposition (which is to say NO opposition) but with questions. USA Greens FaceBook discussion
Naturally-evolved culture lives in its environment sustainably, or perishes (as a parasite that destroys its host). The best examples are first peoples, especially from this continent, the Turtle Back, or N. America, and their pre-colonial cultures provide perfect models for sustainability.
This core value is not limited to first peoples. All people who have sustainable cultures are going to work to further sustain the culture, and will also protect their surrounding environment, as it provides (space, at very least) for the culture's people.
It is an important task of government (such as it is) to protect these cultures in their environments as evolved society from modernist synthesis such as in development.

Whole systems model
editA whole systems model would not attempt to unite pieces that have been deliberately 'broken,' but attempt to an abstracted structure that houses data, specifically commonly-observed information preferably supported by 'scientific' data. There is such a structure: language, or logos. Data within the structure, a data structure, is highly-abstracted and symbolic, supports communication well, as it is communication, and is logical by definition.
Holistic, even with a 'w' as wholistic, is invariably an alternative-natural approach backed by a recently-synthesized mysticism (as science). As an alternative, it is an alternative to the mainstream approach of empirical science, which is alternative in that it is modernist and a replacement for the original natural-evolved approach. Whole systems modeling, in this context, restores the naturally-evolved framework, which is often spiritual, to organize scientific data in the abstraction that we use to model observational data. Symbolism in the abstraction especially as spirituality is valid because it adds an emotional functionality, which is quantum in nature and assures environmental sustainability - the goal of organismic life. In higher organisms, empathy is the vehicle for sustainability (Darwin).
Language
editLanguage models the environment perfectly within normal, average comprehension. It is an outcome of evolution as Darwin described it in his second famous document, and appears 'tuned' for children's comprehension with its stories of important natural facets. It is the 'science' that brought humanity, or us, to the level of society at a spiritual level such that the compassion of caring can be a solidified force.
Matter
editThe other language of science is (of course) math. But with the introduction of math to societal thinking, fracturing begins such that logic (in language) erodes into 'rationally reduced' pieces (eventually) called disciplines, and the problems begin. Rationale implies the application of mathematical methodologies to thinking, but the math used is unscientific, and third rate. It uses limited causal outcomes in easily fractured sequences. Natural events are usually tested in isolation by controlling variables. Singular outcomes lead to conclusions: the methodology behind the scientific inquiry of mental comprehension, for instance, is reduced to the causal outcomes of, say, chemical reactions. Analogical logic from (and of) human evolution is reduced to the sequential (or digital) pseudo-logic of the study of physical matter.
Absolute Science
editData has to be unified, and the language of Science, which is Math, has to be applied universally. What was missing from the empirical weather predictions that failed to predict the current arctic mass-melt was reported failure of empirical scientists to use the exponent, as is used to measure financial growth, which is pretty much the same line as CO2 increases. This is, for all appearances, evidence of the ignorance that is empirically-fractured Science.
Whole systems approaches unify through abstraction, as every view is complex information that i complicated needs to be conceptualized for comprehension. An abstraction is a representation of nature in science and art; it is not a synthesis. It can be an abstraction of complex synthesis such as in art and music industry. Computer function and communication took on a life of their own early on.
Abstractions tend to be plural, which is to say a list of abstractions (necessarily indexed); this implies division, and not a whole. For a whole, a 'single point of entry' is necessary, which is to say a 'single top node' that is the abstraction, and then connected nodes--from a technical perspective. From the perspective of (genuine) intellect, it is a single thought, specifically current working memory responsible for conception, inspiration.
God? Used to be. In one direction Adam Smith changed that by creating the 'de-animated' boolean object that is a single capital digit: objectified cattle or humans leading to human capital, and human-processing, as cattle. In the other, a loosening of spiritual thought directed towards naturally-conceptual education, now called constructive (or constructionist) brings to mind David Hume. Postmodernism, the death of God, the Theo of inspirational thought, the spiritual complex structure, the naturally-evolved whole system(s) model probably for the benefit of the industrial process, core to the industrial revolution, the only actual revolution.
In an empirical paper, for instance, the abstract is a synopsis of the conclusion rather than a framework for functional modeling. Science is not just fracture in non-compatible disciplines, preventing valid conclusions, but fractured into tiny fact that swims in libraries hoping to be implemented in the confirmation of other fact. Evidence is not just strong, but universally damning. Scientists specifically expert in modeling have been forced (by this antiquated system) to conclude that current weather conditions -the meltdown of the arctic- is approximately 70 years off. Empiricists, even Green, ask for supporting information for fact that should be obvious to all, as in our current meltdown.
Society
editFamilies and friends bond together to form extended family that we can call a tribe or band. When groups increase and bands group together, the group can socially move to a spiritual level with naturally-evolved morals to guide them into valid society protected by social sustainability. Especially important in first peoples' groups is the supporting environment, group survival requires sustainability that is achieved by caring for and belief in its importance. This is highly-symbolic, in beneficially-emotional equilibrium, and the basis of belief that becomes the supporting science of survival and happiness.
Five necessities
editHistorical society has produced all of its needs (to be successful). Modernism adds synthesis such that a society (in this context) had increasingly diminished need, or ability, to provide for its needs. Nonetheless, society can be self-sufficient, getting all its needs from the surrounding environment. This beneficial, because it sees its surrounding environment as necessary, often characterizing it as a caregiver, such as mother nature. This assures environmental sustainability. Society evolves with the surrounding enviroment, and learns that many substances produced by the many organisms are health-providing; they are medicine. These medicines are limited to what is available in the environment, and, with modernism (and war), medicine advances and is available to many making life itself more sustainable.
Also with modernization, especially industrialization, comes transportation that can benefit food in that food can be supplied in times of famine, or is simply added.
- Food
- Shelter
- Clothing
- Fun
- Medicine
Four of the five are material, one is informational: fun. This includes entertainment, recreation, and play which build into culture. It includes more serious information, and branches into medicine, which is about the environment. Natural societies usually symbolize aspects of the surrounding environment into story. This makes facts about the environment, Science, easily communicated especially as education for children. Natural, or pre-modernist society blends necessary knowledge with interesting allegory, which is fun; it is also spirituality or religion.
How could society evolve?
editLooking around at today's humanity on a clear course of environment disaster, it is difficult to imagine how current people would survive, let alone thrive, in environments our ancestors evolved in. Deliberate damage that can only be from maladaptions such as greed and cruelty must have been mitigated somehow, with those features developing, as de-evolution, along the trajectory towards modernity.
They must have done something, and I bet it wasn't nice. Lewis Mumford describes marginalized groups forced away from society, as described here, creating hunting groups that formed into criminal groups to ultimately become the violent nation state as we know it.
Civilization

Controlling society
editHuman studies
editPositivism and Marxism
editSociety vs Community
editThe civilization includes containing society in to territorial regions forcing marginalized and anti-social inclusion, which becomes dominant and controlling. Society's value is 'rationally' reduced as an arbitrary entity as defined by an elite, and, as community, the population has little to offer its former culture. As part of the developmental process within the civilization process, former benefits are erased, and governance is implemented anti-socially.
Community derives from 'common' - a term no elite would consider complimentary. Being (usually) geographically inclusive and territorially-bounded, it necessarily includes maladaption from which control (on behalf of an elite) is maintained 'positivistically.' Social meaning is deprecated, and fear from domination or rebellious anger against it become normalized.

Extending Lewis Mumford's Technics and Civilization (1934)
editI don't think he meant 'civilization' as an outcome of maladaption, but civic and control are synonymous especially to First Peoples
- Humanity evolves naturally with darwin's 'natural affection' evolving into genuine human morality but... (largely from Lewis Mumford's Technics and Civilization)
- Maladaptives probably marginalized because of predatory behaviors form groups of hunters-of-humans, and attack the villages that rejected them
- Natural law gives way to their controls synthesized into rules, the birth of legalism, control with which they can exploit 'husbandry' reaching the 'capital zero' stage - processing others' livestock, specifically animals needed for plowing soil - sometimes killing them (and slaves) in sadistic games
- Normal society has no choice but to cooperate with the new structure but might be able to collaborate inter-relationality in underground groups that if lucky, might rebel and overthrow the arbitrary synthesized control group - but probably can't
- Information becomes bottleneck for the control group because it is based on violence, not cunning - another group emerges to fill that space with replacements for natural information that is legalistic, a capital replacement for natural law - church ultimately becomes the last refuge, but gets consistently infiltrated usually using pedophilic strategies built via
- defective dominance, the maladaptive controlling structure cannot sustain itself and weakens - either the normal natural culture slowly replaces the control structure, or there is rebellion - rebellion, however, is criminal in the view of the controlling structure.
- In prison, well-meaning rebels tend to align with thieves (and so forth) who stole from the structure's capital (this is why the hippie rebellion of the 60s went wrong, it aligned with synthesized drug production -both illegal LSD and legal pharma- and its related criminal outcomes...)
- Either way, innocence is lost - the original natural society is forced into the methodologies that oppressed them in first place, specifically military defense that consistently goes on the offense because maladaption can no longer be marginalized (given marginalization caused the problem in the first place)
So, what do you do? the maladaptives create the familiar ratshit / thief culture, stealing from you when they can with blackmail as rationale based on fictional rule-breaking showing the criminalistic roots of legalism (especially now that marijuana is legal)
Super society
editMarginalized maladaptive groups
editBeneficial society in not necessarily fully-inclusive; there are maladaptive individuals who form groups that roam. This happens when normal society marginalizes maladaptives it cannot 'properly adapt' to unfixable dysfunctions. According to Lewis Mumford, these roaming groups, brigands, eventually form into nation states. This is something to consider when designing pure, open, direct democracy, even, or especially, from a permanently secure position.
Replacing civilization
editCivilization
editCivilization, being the process of annexation and colonialization, is, or should be, transitory--but it isn't. Brutal maladaptives purposed to 'win the peace' after the war, do not go away; they reform into permanent governance to assure that there is no return to the previous, first peoples' culture (or any other) primarily, apparently, as part of rights of reproduction and ascendency. Obviously, they thrive on crushing rebellion, and are part of the increasingly obsolete revolutionary cycle, possibly as cleverly designed by initial civilizers.
Colonial redirection of maladaption towards the environment, unsustainably
editEuropean-style development, as unsustainable and counter-evolutional needs to be inserted into spirituality in ways that deliberately reverse naturally-evolved moral culture.
Natural phases
editInitially, families form into extended family and friends, perhaps tribes or bands, and then extend regionally to integrate it sustainably into a spirituality. Spirituality is phenomenological, it's a vertical continuum connecting humanity with the heavens, and in first peoples, humanity with all the animals, rocks, insects, etc as family. Everywhere, the 'feel' is nearly the same usually with nearly-identical components pictured as both people and animals. It is always beautiful.
There is a population size limit to it, though --perhaps this limit is in the 10s of thousands. Beyond this, evidence is that hierarchical control structures form, and the distance from the top to the bottom becomes too great for necessary vertical communication. Mumford suggests that this is where previously-marginalized groups re-enter society and form militaries (and police).
This is what is called 'civilization,' but incorrectly as civilization implements civility as control, with a civil exterior and a brutal interior. The term is Latin and correctly describes European civilization, that included capital slavery. There is no evidence that other 'civilizations' such as, say Mayan, Hindu, African, or Chinese functioned as the Roman empire did. While weird and brutal things may have happened, phenomenology does not apply world-wide to 'so-called' civilization because civilization is a synthesis, and a process --not a natural phenomena.
Super society
editLarge society, naturally attached to its surrounding environment and extending regionally and spiritually that goes beyond its '10s of thousands' group size limitation, needs a name: provisionally 'super society.' This is necessary to identify culture and region truly-democratically in current contexts of population sizes of billions.

- Restoring the 'data structure' of First People's thoughts
- First peoples were purely-logical and coordinated with the cycles of nature through their spirituality,
- They communicated the scientific fact (mostly to their children) that guided their sustainable lives through 'abstraction' and
- wholly-connected to the surrounding environment
- This is how I have been all my life largely-influenced by museums, valid books, life alone in the woods, and a few pow-wows
- More recently this was all confirmed by actual local first peoples as a purely-family-relationship from the stars to the rocks to worms
- Denying this is modernist and synthetic: capitalist and marxist
- So what if you win the battle only to lose the planet?
Lessons from the history of direct democracy, ancient and current
editIn comparison to right-communism (or related highly-controlled social action and service groups), family capital is historically appears closer to beneficial democracy. For one thing, capital is about productivity, albeit with 'productivity economies' traditionally working their ways upwards to the capital family as profits. For many, if not most, productive work is fun. If the capital family 'pays back' by enriching the, well, community ( <-- here is a hint! ), then, for the most part, it is all good. Such was the case with Athens. While the direct democracy political arrangement seems something 'the masses' may be looking for through some kind of socialism, (I believe that) right-communism has it 'way-back' roots in democratic-leaning family capital's enemy: the Spartan oligarchy that was supported by the original academy.
Seeing that Athen's democracy was fully-inclusive and capital funded, it's society especially its political model was fully-inclusive, apparently, to an excessive degree (citing the 'trial of Socrates'). Society, being a confluence of like-minded thinkers (the majority of humanity), does not (or should not) seek the input and inevitable right-rebellion of those maladapting to dysfunction. This obviously contradicts current political left thinking, which seeks to empower the autistic spectrum, even to force humanity to rotate around it.
So what do you do? Well, an idea is to not birth the underlying causes of maladaption in the first place, or develop gene therapy to cure it. This isn't happening to a significant degree (need to update sources), and may never happen because the mental illness activists insist that maladaption is beneficial to humanity in that it supplies the 'drive' necessary to empower capital growth, and the 'objectivity' not to worry about a few 'little people' who stand in the way of capital development. However, economic as this may be especially in terms of right-communism's state capital development, it is these attacks against the 'little people' that attract communist actions.
Ancient Athens
editSolon is credited with pulling governance away from 'birthright,' and giving it to wealthy families to create the first steps of democracy. So, who came before Solon? Or, where did his ideas come from? Is this question relevant in this context? The central hypothesis is that healthy society is an extension of healthy self-concept in individuals and families extended outward to a higher societal level where human morality can evolves in significant ways.
The wikipedia-provided diagram of Athenian democratic organization shows democratic sophistication equal to or better than any current government. Athens was capitalized in the way Rome was using tribute collection networks. Tribute collected from Sparta by Athens meant for a fleet against Persia was used to build democratic edifices contributing to Spartan anger against Athens.
The alternative chart, if it exists, would show control by the board of 30 'tyrants' aligned with Sparta, and is historically oligarchic. The 30 tyrants were a self-perpetuating board of directors that lasted only 8 months. Led by Critias, a student of Socrates, they killed 5% of the population, exiled others and stole property.
Athens followed a path complicated as the Russian revolution and civil war. Suffice to say, Athens problems started when it spent large funds gathered through tribute collection to build temples to its democracy. Athens consequently failed under the leadership of Socrates' students who tended to 'play both sides.' Their technical strengths in politics and war overridden their obvious loyalty issues. They were isolated in the end, but their philosophic flavor carries on today as modernism, especially in technology.
In comparison to today, Athens democracy prospered under the 'strong man' Pericles. Relying on citizen voting through direct democracy, anti-democrats were able to use it's direct democracy to attempt to disable it through votes and elections. Athenian democracy was empowered of capital families, though local aristocrats attempted to return it to oligarchy.
Effectively, it was a highly-capitalized state that may have invented the tribute collection networks (that ancient Rome used), and was different from other capitalized states only in that it used open elections for decision making. Its education system, that favored Sparta, combined with its civil controls probably inherited from previous oligarchs, specifically Draco, appears to have locked it into a historical path that would ultimately hurt democratic concepts. A bad feature was 'ostracization' that allowed an angry minority hurt good people through exile. Many were brought back to lead battles.
There was a fair amount of social control that resembles Marx. The idea of tribes or clans was purely-synthesized community distribution designed to prevent organic communities from forming to challenge the civil structure. Community leaders were automatically prosecuted on retirement.
Democratic survival required a foreign family, Alexander's, to wrest Athens from the 'board' of 30 tyrants imposed by Sparta. Athenian, and hellenic, history reads like violent times of Britain: armies marching and battling yearly. That certainly can't be the whole story, endless fighting by people who should know better. Democracy, I believe was saving Athens from the mistakes of its own civility rather than the separate slavery-based civility imposed by Sparta
Philip, Alexander's father, restored Athens as a purely-democratic pan-Hellenic center, or capital. Athenian 'legalists' attempted to restore as an oligarchy by perverting the democratic process with the pure lie of legalism. The legalists were probably a philosophic throwback to the aristocrats who initially opposed Solon's democracy (preferring Draco's sadism). Oligarchs all died, of course; Athenian civility persisted as direct democracy; and Philip was killed by an over-promoted personal guard.
From reading in the wiki-sphere, you get a sense that you are right in the middle of the endless violence 2500 yrs ago. These highly-accurate backdrops to direct-democracy seem impossible considering that ignorant invaders burned every library thereafter. Athenian history seems like the Bible: much must have been introjected such as in Ezekiel 23:20.
Many have suggested a genuine buddhist influence in Christianity; it this happened, it happended through Alexander's invasion of 'near Asia.' There is Greek Buddhism literally written in stone, suggesting Alexander's invasions where not all that oppressive, and that hellenic violence has been exaggerated by the oligarhic philosophers who have dominated historical interpretations.

editRojava
editWithin Syria, Rojava is a successful Kurdish territory that seeks reconstruction, apparently, along the lines of Murray Bookchin's social libertarian democracy.
Given the trauma of the Syrian civil war (which continues), any good news is to be celebrated. For all appearances, what we are seeing is evolved and effective Kurdistan democratic communism with a stated hope for direct democracy. Structure is being achieved in this way with typically left-communist equality where leadership is chosen through community nomination.
My guess given the circumstances is that everything is working well within the structure because cooperation is guaranteed through mutual need. I think I can predict that the structure will eventually experience 'institutional creep' to show undesirable control features as individuals achieve permanent control status, possibly through personality cults seen in every successful implementation of textbook communism.
All of these aspects work together with the people of the community in order to create a system of checks and balances which prevent bureaucratization, deter stagnation, and ensure that the will of the people is being carried out. Philip Argeș O'Keeffe
By having elections, Rojava may be imagining direct democracy. The structure in place as left communism may probably prevent the purely-social formation of evolved society, or societies. Communism seeks an inclusive community as a workforce, where maladaption is often implemented as a (state) capital driving force. Those seeking restoration of spiritually-social structure (that hopefully evolves democratically) may experience isolation (ostracization).
Restorative justice
editRojava is implementing Canadian restorative justice as a reconciliation mechanism to mitigate localized conflict and crime. Restorative justice is a significant step back to the social structures of pre-colonial society, and steps back onto the evolutionary track. Probably a more significant application would be internationally to prevent nationally-internal conflict from creating wounds that terror infiltrators can infect. With restorative justice comes environmental restoration, and cultural strengthening especially with respect to families and women, specifically woman's ability to 'right-size' her family. With climate change and capital development, the truly-natural resources that families traditional cultures have relied are disappearing for, at this time, the exclusive benefit of the very rich.
Education
editRojava is highly-aware that NGOs who attempt to benefit it look down on it as a kind of child, irrespective of its military strength. Rojava is not aware, however, that ith has adopted the underlying education system that spawns NGOs, which also spawned the global economic system that causes the problems they seek to resist. The WSM suggests that to meet the criteria for success in the ways that Rojava hopes, it needs to restore self- and group-concept in ways that modern education seeks to erase. Modern education's approach is purely-modernist irrespective of its support for corporate capital (capitalism), state capital, or both. The application of self-concept has been held back by programmed education specifically to assure programmed education's continued to control of humanity, which is capitalistic, and expansionist with its trademark 'empiricism,' which is exactly what it sounds like. Empiricism is the technology of empire building.
Possiblity of constructivism
editThe available option to empiricism is constructivism and its partner constructionism (which don't necessarily need to be called these difficult words). These are humanistic approaches that are open to the concepts of anthropology, and especially phenomenology: intellectual approaches that are not empiricist (except when they have to be to survive as education disciplines). Constructivism is close to restorative justice, and also applies as psychology in its 'block building' approach to individual growth -- or evolution. Again, we know that none of these words are necessary for the simple reason that the natural societies that are built from them have never seen books named for them. These include current urban cultures that have restored the path to evolutional benefits in back to the land movements including 'urban homesteading.' Be aware though, that through a purely-inclusive community approach, civil society has strategically empowered maladaptives with controlling positions as part of empiricist preservation. They invariably fail as sustainable society to become welfare-addicted usually through drug addiction.
Revolution to evolution
editRevolution gives respite within empiricism, but to continue holding off the two flavours of capital, corporate and state, revolution has to continue, and with it a military has to be maintained. A military is a 'no-brainer' for Rojava as it fought victoriously against the insanity of the (so-called) Islamic State, but the barrier to the restoration of evolution in naturally-evolved concept will remain, and Rojava will fall into stagnation and suffer 'institutional creep,' the very conditions it seeks to diminish.
This is to say that the principles that Rojava embraces are effective, and are currently in play (especially in US elections), but are just a single step towards restoration of 'the whole' -- which is its surrounding, supporting environment. There is no sustainability in warfare despite its importance for survival and, thus, sustainability
Hopefully, the Rojavan left-communist experiment will not be obliterated by warfare.

editDemocratic mystery
editSearch criteria forms. A piece that fits the transition from natural democracy over various 'tyrants' must be found. Somehow, the key Darwinist ideas of natural affection are preserved (perhaps in secret). They are granted to 'seekers' who can then use the preserved concept to construct modern democracy society as Athens experienced. Browsing the wikipedia produced a likely candidate in Samothrace, a slightly-secret society on an island in the Aegean that was visited by nearly every important ancient player mythological and real. It was specifically democratic in that any visitor could join at any societal level with personal wealth being immaterial. Slaves were welcome, as were poor fishermen. It was highly-nautical, and in the end, very well supported having produced one of the most important classical sculptures: the Winged Victory, or Nike.
Chattel
editUpon seeing the word 'chattel' on a lease, my first thought (thinking this word was dead) was human-chattel from before the US Civil war. Instantly, cattle becomes visible in chattel because of the similarity in spelling and the context. This relation is supported by online etymologies, but in the opposite direction of what is convenient for sustainable functional modeling.
Nonetheless, cattle are a denomination in preserved pre-colonial peoples of Africa. This suggests a relation with 'head' as in 'head count.' In the capital venture of killing and processing cattle (capital- or cap-zero), there would be a 'headcount of cattle,' and a 'headcount of chattel' that suggests humans. These would reside in context if it is the US prior to the end of slavery.
These owned humans would be managed by less-than-qualified humans in ways cattle (and other livestock) are managed. Nazis did something similar, but in the informational context of the modern dialectic.

editItaly's 5 Star Movement party
editItaly's 5 Star movement which is environmental (degrowth) and seeks direct democracy has had a coalition of convenience with the (rightist anti-migrant) "League," or Lega Nord. 5 Star is apparently moving towards a coalition with the left-center Democratic Party to prevent consumption by the League, but has to leave rightist anti-migrant policies.
Internally, the 5 Star shows internal autocracy with dissidents being expelled, an example of ostracism, which is a perceived weakness in the Athenian direct democracy model. This problem seems universal within political parties that preach democracy but practice internal autocracy. This erodes democracy as the internal practices the electoral winners extend into government. Further, it reinforces the electoral weakness of oppressing minorities and ostracizing 'new thinkers' and their ideas, who are always a minority because of their intellectual extensions into undiscovered political territory.

editOrganizing society
editNatural society
editDarwin described human morality as an evolutional extension of the natural affection of animals such as we see in our pets. In this view, the beneficial society we are defining is probably much closer to nature to access Darwin's (guaranteed) basis of beneficial human nature. This is to suggest that pre-colonial society everywhere is naturally democratic, in that it is based on good feelings between people organized by elders chosen for skills in helping people comprehend life.
Since pre-colonial groups are consistently described as friendly on first contact, pre-colonial societal benefits are for everyone, not just the extended families and 'tribes' (as in current civilized society).
A definition for society as intellectual grouping that helps with popular comprehension emerges: Science as a culture. It is Science in the context of Nature, which is described spiritually in pre-colonial culture: religion. This supports the extension of personal and group concept in the abstracted existence of natural environments, which is the formation of a highly-abstracted data structure to hold necessary environmental information that has its basis in individual human concept.
Self-concept is evident in the group's concepts. Every individual is necessarily represented in the science of the wider-group's abstracted methodologies for sustenance in scientific but mythologically-represented ways: democracy. This is to say, democracy without modern voting where expert leadership naturally joins the 'tribe' however big it may be. At a certain point, the society evidently becomes vast such as current first peoples whose specific grouping, for example, extends from the US Southwest nearly to Alaska. This suggests that societal information extends far from individual families and their groupings. It becomes even further abstracted and maintained by elders (who are able to travel) in purely-abstracted contexts: mythology.
First peoples naturally form 'super' society
editThis article, Oppenheimer Park tent city, describes a self-sustaining culture (mostly first peoples) at the lowest economic level of Canadian society, the homeless in Oppenheimer park tent city in Vancouver. It is successful at this level, and should be preserved, as an example social sustainability, the model for natural-sustaining human society. From the article:
"Authorities often fail to understand the sense of community that develops in these encampments. Artists visit and simply hang out." According to Chrissy Brett, some residents began doing tai chi with others who were coming to the park. “We’ve probably got 60 percent–plus of residents that are Indigenous,” Brett said. “And not just from local First Nations but from all over"
