Wikiversity talk:IRC meeting:What is Wikiversity?
Would it be possible for this meeting to be publicly archived when done? If so, just put a note in the topic of the channel before the meeting starts that says that it will be publicly archived on-wiki. Please also make sure you announce the time on wikiversity-l when you've decided. :-) Cbrown1023 17:16, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Public archival is fine by me - and as you say, this would need to be made public beforehand, as well as in the topic of the room. And yes, the time will be confirmed on mailing list - when should we decide this? Cormaggio 21:55, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Agenda
editWhile I really like the topic of this discussion, I'm a bit concerned it could get a bit "all over the place" :-) In order to keep productive, I would encourage people to post any lengthy thoughts to the mailing list and/or wikis. I also think it might help to have a series of questions that need discussing. Finally, I wouldn't like to overemphasise the issue of the Greek Wikiversity - however, it is intimately linked to the ongoing discussion about the relationship between Wikiversity and Wikibooks, so perhaps that should be the major focus of this discussion... Cormaggio 21:55, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've posted a comment on the Greek Wikiversity situation to the mailing list: [1] Cormaggio 10:53, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Time of meeting
editI think we should try and set a time so that people can make plans around this. It seems that most people are available around 23:00 UTC - should we start it then, and try and keep it to 1-1.5 hours? Cormaggio 12:54, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with you the most suitable time is 23:00 UTC we could discuss more but I think 1-2 hours are fine, so see you on Saturday :-) .-- 13:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, 23:00 UTC seems like the way to go. --JWSchmidt 15:57, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
lack of structure and maturity
edit"concerned about a lack of structure and maturity in the Wikiversity project " is a very strange comment. "Lack of structure and maturity in the Wikiversity project" accurately describes *any* new wiki. Why is he concerned? I wonder what he is not saying. Hillgentleman|書 05:42, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
#wikiversity not on chatwikizine
editI would like to participate but I shall not be able to, since chatwikizine [2] does not host the #wikiversity channel. I can only encourage the Greek participants to speak strongly about your visions and plans. Good luck. Hillgentleman|書 07:04, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've asked Walter to add it to the list - hopefully it'll be up by tonight's meeting... Cormaggio 14:12, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- Also, if you can't download an IRC client, you might be able to get Chatzilla, an extension for firefox that allows you to connect to IRC... Cormaggio 14:18, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- You can go on it from chatwikizine, first you need to enter in a wikiversity IRC channel and after tape : /j #wikiversity. Crochet.david 19:07, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- The #wikiversity channel has been added now - sorry for late notice... Cormaggio 23:11, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
